General:

1957 - Mrs. Maggie Hester aged 73, of Fountain Hill died in a Crossett hospital Wednesday. October 16. She was the widow of J R Hester. Mrs Hester was a native of Ashley county. She was a member of the Fountain Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Alden Hester, Little Rock, Norman Hester, Crossett and Roland Hester, Fountain Hill; four daughters, Mrs Ray Phillips, Mrs Isaac Norrell, both of Fountain Hill, Mrs C B Hollis, Montrose, Mrs Leon Binns, Crossett; five sisters, Mrs Emmett Gulledge, Mrs Ben Carter, both of Crossett, Mrs Jim Farrar, Mrs Mart Robinson and Mrs Cabe Robinson, all of Bastrop; one brother Jimmy Powell, Crossett. Twenty-six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held at the Fountain Hill Baptist Church at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) by Revs J W Buckner, E C Acuff and John John Hugheart.
Pallbearers were: Conrad Carter, Louis Carter, Ben T Carter, Billy Carter, Harold Robinson, Howard Gulledge, Allen Gulledge, Jimmy Powell, Jr, Macel Farrar and Geddie Farrar.
Burial was in the Fountain Hill cemetery with Jones Funeral Home in charge.
