General:

Bill W. Drummond, 66, of El Dorado, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at St. Vincent's Select Specialty Hospital in Little Rock of complications from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Born Nov. 24, 1942, in El Dorado, he was the son of James Jewell and Verna Mason Drummond. Bill was a retired insurance agent and a member of East Main Baptist Church. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force as a combat photographer. During his service he did a series of pictures of John F. Kennedy the day before his assassination and as he exited Air Force One in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963.

Preceding him in death along with his parents was one brother, James Drummond.

Survivors include his wife, Kaye Drummond of El Dorado, two sons, Kenneth Drummond (Angela) of El Dorado and Kevin Drummond (Christina) of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Lillie Faye Drummond Jennings of Waskom, Texas; one brother, Alton Drummond (Sandra) of Monroe, La.; and a sister-in-law, Anna Pearl Drummond of Bryant. Also surviving are grandsons, Ashton Drummond, Andrew Drummond, Austin Drummond, all of El Dorado, and Grant Drummond of Memphis; a granddaughter, Brooklyn Waller Drummond of El Dorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at East Main Baptist Church with Dr. Benjy McCann officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mr. Drummond's four grandsons and Chuck Jerry, Tom Norrell, Tim Norrell and Jimmy Drummond.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 4:30 p.m. today.
