Bettye C. Hollis, 78, of Hope, died Sunday, December 31, 2006, at her home. She was born February 6, 1928 in Earle, to James R. and Jim Hyde Chapman. She was a retired teacher, having received her degree in history from Baylor University. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by three sisters.
Survivors include her husband, of 53 years, Robert L. 'Bob' Hollis, and one son, John R. Hollis and Kim, all of Hope.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope, with the Rev. Earl Cumbie officiating. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 2, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
