General:
Reginald Dean White, 75, of Crossett died Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. A native of Ashley County and a resident of Crossett for most of his life, he graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and the Missionary Baptist Seminary at Little Rock. He was a member of the Arkansas National Guard and was deployed in 1957 to Little Rock to keep the peace during the desegregation of Central High School. He was the owner of Underground Service Company and pastor of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church for the past 36 years.

He is survived by a son, Gary White and wife Patty of Branson, MO; a daughter, Wendy Griswould and husband, Dan; a brother, Dale Wade White and wife Shelia; a sister, Faith White Nowlin and husband John, all of Crossett; three grandchildren, Mitchell White, Karen Stephenson and Tabitha Freeman; and three great-grandchildren, Lexie Ruth Freeman, Rachel Rice and Gage Coleman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Hester White, in 2001; a daughter, Wanda White, in 1970; his parents, Ashton R. and Edith Mae Doss White; a brother, Don White; and a sister, Linda K. White.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 18, at the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church with Bros. Garry Massey and Danny Kirkland officiating. Burial was in the Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Mitchell, Randy Mitchell, Eugene Mitchell, Glenn Kelley, Jerry Stell and Kenny White. Honorary pallbearers were James Dodd, Philip Nowlin, Jay Nowlin and Keith Breshears. Memorials may be made to the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, P. O. Box 921, Crossett, AR 71635. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
