General:

Edward had flaming red hair and family tradition was that he had come fr om Ireland. The 1880 census shows that he was born in MO, however, and th ere were many families with the surname of Watters in MO as early as 183 0. Edward later moved to Texas County but moved to the new frontier of Te xas in the 1880's or early 1890's.
