General:

Sharon O'Neal Hollis, 59, of Hamburg died Monday, September 17, 2007, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. A native of Crossett and a lifelong resident of Hamburg, she graduated from Hamburg High School in 1966 and from the University of Arkansas-Monticello in 1969. She was an elementary teacher for the Hamburg School District for 29 years until retiring in 2001. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also a member of the Hamburg Garden Club and the Hamburg School Board.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil "Pete" Hollis, Jr.; a son, Chuck Hollis and wife Stephanie, all of Hamburg; two brothers, Eddie O'Neal and wife Linda of Warren and Richard O'Neal and wife Cheryl of Hamburg; seven nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mia Rose Hollis, in 2004 and her parents, Ray and Verna Johnston O'Neal.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 19, in the First Baptist Church with Revs. Welsey Harville and Klois Hargis and Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating.. Burial will follow services at the Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kyle O'Neal, Alan and Andy Riles, Ronnie Adams, Kevin Stewart and Tommy Hollis. Honorary pallbearers are employees and former employees of the Hamburg School District as well as the Hamburg School Board. Memorials may be made to the Hamburg High School Scholarship Fund, P. O.
